Tallin, Estonia
An unusual shot with the McDonalds and one side of the street and the ruins of Tallin Estonia on the other side of the street.

More Copenhagen
We had a fun day today. We walked for about 10 hours. Sarina held up fine because our last stop an amusement park - where she got her second third and fourth wind.
Started the day searching for Christiana - an old hippy commune. After a lot of walking, we found our way. It was quite an interesting place. Lots of old hippies floating around. We heard that the area was closed down, but sure enough there were tons of people around when we got there. "pusherstreet" apparently is in the process of closing down and there lots of police around.
It's a very interesting area with lots of little huts where people live. The enire area is surrounded by canals and waterways, very pretty.
After our adventure into this area - we walked to Tivoli, which is an old amusement park. Sarina had a great time on all the rides, eating cotten candy and making friends with all the kids who would talk to her.
It was a fun day. We are tired and will get some rest before we tak off tomorrow for a 10 cruise.

Day 2/3 of the Great Baratta Adventure
We are having a really nice time so far. We are a bit confused about day and night because it is always light here - It gets dark for about 3 hours - from midnight until 3 am. We have been sleeping at strange hours of the day and night - Sarina thinks it is Thursday because everytime she wakes up she thinks it is a new day! We will get it sorted out sometime soon, I hope!
Yesterday - or should I say a few hours ago, we took a walking tour of the city. It is a beautiful place, very clean with beautiful architecture and very friendly people. We saw all the sites, and even enjoyed some cavier out of a tube? We are going native here....
Sarina has been asking for ice cream for several days now so we finally broke down and changed some money - After our walk to see the statue of little Mermaid we were walking back toward our hotel - it was 11:30 PM. All of the sudden we noticed that no one was around - no people, no cars, just US...a few minutes later we noticed some armed guards all around us, Apparently we had walked into the courtyard of the Palace where the royal family resides- Joe nodded to the one guard as if to say - of course we belong here, we just strolling through to see if any of the royals were around and wanted to come out and greet us?
We got a very strange look from the guard who figured we must belong here......we later saw a sign that showed people walking with a big slash through it - hey what do we know we can't read the signs anyway.
Luckily we made it the ice cream shop before midnight when it closed.

SANDY'S VERSION?
It's true - it could have been a disaster, but luck and "ios fanourios" - the greek God who takes care of lost people and things- was on our side.....we made our flights and even our luggage arrived with us! Sarina had a good trip - she handed our passports to the security guy and he said "Welcome to Denmark!" He asked her if "Peaches" had a passport? She replied - she's just a stuffed animal - silly!!
The people here are very nice and friendly. Everyone speaks English and wants to help! We must look like we need help. We are staying in a cute area of Copenhagan called Nyhavn. It is on the canal with lots of shops and restaurants all around us. We had a good sleep after walking around town and feel pretty well rested.
We have been up since about 3AM when the sun came up. By the way the sun went down at around 10pm. So it is light here most of the time.
We woke up hungry in the middle of the night and feasted on some Granola Bars. Just made a pot of coffee with the french press - a necessity in our travel bags. Sarina is watching cartoons in some other language and all is well on the Baratta front!

The first near homicidal incident.
Day 1. Off to an auspicious start. On the way to fry's to pick up some last minute electronic gagetry my bride decided to review the travel itinerary...needless to say...unbeknownst to me...the flight was on time (the semi-good news)...but leaving in an hour...we begged and made the flight...not so confident about the luggage...so starting with low expectations givin us a chance to improve(unlimited potential..the little acorn that becomes the mighty oak)....thanks goodness for cheap wine and airport lounges
